EPI-SoHo
The vision of the EPI-SoHo project is to improve energy efficiency and rational
use of energy across social housing stocks within the European Union Member
States contributing to better standards of living and global environmental benefits.
Objectives:
- Making large scale energy assessments possible in a cost effective way;
- Embedding energy assessment data in social housing policy processes;
- Inventory and solutions of issues concerning “cost-of-living”
related to energy;
- Enabling giant leaps on sustainable issues though narrow collaborative structures
between local authorities and social housing associations
Description:
The EPBD requires an appropriate balance between the energy costs and benefits,
sufficient capacity for assessment, additional values for the social housing
management and (local) administrations and a closed quality circle to keep the
required energy data/certificates up-to-date.
Results:
- A generic method for large scale energy assessments;
- A generic method on embedding energy performance in policy making and social
housing management;
- A generic method for cooperative structures between local authorities and
social housing associations;
- A investigation on institutional barriers and solutions for sustainable
energy saving strategies;
- A wide spread dissemination of the results in relevant networks and sectors,
emphasizing on new member states
